I qualified in reflexology in 2015 and enjoy working this way with clients who afterwards say how calm and relaxed they feel, this is a time for you to lie back and enjoy the experience of reflexology knowing that it is working on your body and soul to enhance your being.
Foot Map showing some of the areas I will be working on during the session. This can also be transferred to the hands.
Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed 'Zone therapy'. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. In the 1930's, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone theory into what is known as reflexology today.
Reflexology is a wonderful anti-stress treatment. Reflexology can help to relieve physical and mental stress, encourage healthy sleep patterns and re-balance your energy. A single treatment can often help relieve stress-related symptoms such as indigestion, anxiety, headaches, eyestrain, muscle tension and back-ache. With regular treatments the symptoms can disappear altogether.
During the treatment firstly I will massage your feet allowing them to become used to my touch I will then apply gentle pressure and manipulate different points on your feet some will be slightly sensitive and others may feel gritty. Towards the end of the treatment I will gently massage your feet before ending the session. Reflexology can also be done on the hands if it is preferred. Before you go home there will be time to discuss anything you may of felt during the treatment and also anything that you yourself may be able to do in between treatments.
My clients find the experience relaxing and often fall asleep during the treatment. Of course if you would rather chat during the session then that is fine, this is your time.
